The Real Reason Behind Increased Egg Prices and Why Your Health’s at Risk

Although inflation plays a big role in the price increase for groceries and the cost of living overall; there’s something about eggs that still stands out as absurd.

The reason is the morbid outbreak of Avian Influenza virus, causing a mortality rate of 90%-100% in chickens and resulted in over 43 million deaths of hens.

The fewer the chickens, the higher their eggs cost and the only concern should be that we’re still consuming an alarming amount of poultry products.

Are we being lied to about the healthiness of the chicken we consume? And who’s to blame?

When you look for the root cause of this, it starts with the virus itself. But when you think of how it spreads, your mind should go to the owners of breeding camps.

If you’re unaware, there is an uncommonly known fact that breeding camps are crowded by the thousands in unsanitary conditions. Units are cleaned only at the end of each cycle, so after two to three weeks, the floor of their sheds are completely covered with feces.

As more hens get infected with the Avian virus, the more the virus spreads between them through their fecal matter.

The disease is spreading rapidly which would presumingly decrease the sale of poultry products, but we’re still consuming their meat at a steady price.

Why are their eggs more probable to cost changes? Because a chicken doesn’t have to be alive to sell its meat, but they do in order to hatch eggs. So because their eggs are such a rarity, they have to double in price.

It is also a well known fact that nearly all chickens being sent to slaughter factories contain dead chickens due to disease or suffocation; in this case, they will choose to butcher them and sell at a low price.

This will then maintain the constant supply of chicken when demand is as high as it is. And who would be buying chickens in high quantities for low costs to keep the demand constant? Fast food chains? Frozen chicken brands? Stores?

Just remind yourself to think again before you easily consume a poultry product and what effects it may have on the human body due to its cause of death.
